Highway Exhibits Equipment at Harford Fair
Updated: Apr 6, 2020
The 161st annual Harford Fair took place in New Milford, PA, on August 20-25, 2018. For the second year in a row, Drums Territory Sales Manager Ryan Whitmiller represented Highway Equipment & Supply Co. as a participating Fair vendor.
Ryan displayed the following equipment:
Volvo EC140E crawler excavator
Volve EW60E compact wheeled excavator
Volvo L70H wheel loader
Bobcat S750 skid steer loader
Kage 9’ snow plow
Diamond Mowers 72” brush hog
"We had a positive turnout again, as we did last year," said Ryan. "I had roughly 80 customers come through my space and talk to me about equipment. The EW60 was definitely a big hit as many customers said they had never seen a smaller wheeled excavator. They always knew the larger machines were available on wheels, but never saw the “mini” excavator size on wheels."
The Fair, a six-day agricultural event, draws an estimated 60,000 attendees. Many farmers and small residential contractors take an interest in equipment during their visit.
"I believe the activity level, generated by the Harford Fair, has picked up a little more this year than last year," said Ryan. "I got a few demos this year, and customers are looking to purchase equipment next year based on what they saw at the Fair."
For Highway, the Harford Fair is an opportunity to increase brand awareness and outreach, touch base with existing customers, and meet new prospects interested in learning more about Highway equipment.
"Just getting to be in front of those customers is very important. Some customers we have never met stop and introduce themselves to talk about equipment. It helps me as a sales representative and Highway as a company to branch out and reach as many customers as possible." (Ryan Whitmiller)
