Highway Equipment & Supply Co. was established in 1944 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, as a branch office of Highway Equipment Company of Pittsburgh. Over the years, the company evolved into a standalone entity and became a privately-held C corporation in 1951.
A major milestone came in 1985 when Volvo Construction Equipment became Highway’s flagship brand. Today, the company proudly represents over 15 equipment brands, catering to a diverse range of customer needs in the construction and industrial sectors.
To better serve its growing customer base beyond the Harrisburg area, Highway opened a branch office in Drums, PA, in 1960. This was followed by the establishment of additional branches in Lock Haven in 2006 and Brownstown in 2009. Continuing its legacy of growth, the company launched Keystone Construction & Mining Equipment, an affiliate, in 2024 to expand its reach to the greater Pittsburgh area.
Highway Equipment & Supply Co. now operates across five locations and employs approximately 100 people. Each branch is a full-service facility, offering equipment sales, service, parts, and rentals to meet the various needs of its customers. This steadfast commitment to customer service and quality products has been the foundation of the company’s success for over 80 years.
